We were hired by a couple in their 50’s with grown children to redesign the upstairs of their summer home. They wanted us to preserve the timeless traditional Maine aesthetic while providing both functionality and a fresh feel.

To do this, we relied on our signature approach of layering textiles and wallcoverings to achieve a warmth and familiarity that feels lived in.  Storage in this in-town residence is limited, so we tucked away drawers under window seats and daybeds with built-in shelves, and furnishings with clean silhouettes. We kept original pieces that were loved, and added pops of color to update them.
